After a disappointing loss at James Madison last Thursday, the Coastal Carolina football team has a chance to bounce back in front of the alumni on Saturday as the Chanticleers host SBC West Division rival Louisiana at noon. The Ragin’ Cajuns, who are one of four Sun Belt teams that are undefeated in conference play, will present a unique challenge to CCU. Unlike the breakneck speed in which most teams like to play, Louisiana prefers to play keep away, leading the Sun Belt in time of possession.

So, as the Chanticleers prepare to celebrate Homecoming this weekend, head coach Tim Beck says his team can only do one thing to make the crowd in Conway happy.

“Win the game. That’s what your job is,” Beck said in recapping what he’s told his team about this weekend’s celebration. “But really, we’ve addressed more of us. We’ve addressed Louisiana and what they do and how they do it and how to prepare for ’em and what we need to do to get back on the winning ways. I think our guys are pretty locked into that right now, to be honest.”

Beck met with the media on Wednesday for his weekly press conference to preview Saturday’s matchup with Louisiana. It’s the first time the two have played since 2020 and will be the fourth all-time meeting between the programs.
