A year ago, the Coastal Carolina football team traveled nearly 5,000 miles to compete in the Hawai’i Bowl against San Jose State. This season, the team will just have to walk across campus for its bowl appearance.
On Sunday, the Chanticleers were paired with the UTSA Road Runners for the annual Myrtle Beach Bowl, held at Brooks Stadium in Conway. The contest, which will take place on Monday, December 23rd, will be the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
Official Release from Coastal Carolina: Coastal Carolina football will make its fifth consecutive postseason appearance when it faces off against UTSA in the Myrtle Beach Bowl on Dec. 23, 2024. Kick from Brooks Stadium is set for 11 a.m. ET on ESPN.
Both programs head into the contest with a 6-6 record. Coastal has posted a 2-2 bowl game record and with its appearance in the 2024 Myrtle Beach Bowl will have competed in a bowl game in five of its first eight seasons at the FBS level.
While the game is on the Coastal Carolina campus, it will not be a home game for the Chanticleers. Myrtle Beach and the Myrtle Beach Bowl serve as the official host of the neutral-site contest.
