Bryant Wesco, Jr., had to learn a tough lesson last year. What it’s like NOT to play football. The rising junior from Midlothian, Texas, was on track for an all-ACC-caliber season through six games before suffering a season-ending injury against SMU in October.

“I knew that deep down I had another role to fill,” Wesco told the media this past Friday. “I had to become a verbal leader, even though that’s not really me.”

Wesco is hoping that his game and new responsibilities within the team will have a significant impact in 2027, given his understanding of what it’s like not to be on the field.
