Clemson had to make some adjustments to its running back room last season, permanently moving wide receiver Adam Randall into the backfield for his final year with the Tigers. The experiment worked out pretty well, as Randall led Clemson in rushing, scored ten touchdowns, and was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens. Next up? Sophomore Gideon Davidson.
“Now that I’ve had a year under my belt, I feel like it’s a lot easier,” Davidson told the media this week. “The game has definitely slowed down, and I just have the ability to play free.”
After rushing for just 260 yards and no touchdowns last season, Davidson seems prepared to take over the lead back role as the Tigers continue prepping for LSU.
