#Clemson clobbers Queens 109-79, Hall drops 27 (AUDIO)

If there was an emotional hangover following Clemson’s first loss of the season, any evidence of it was washed away amidst the Tigers’ record-setting first half against Queens at Littlejohn Coliseum, Friday. Clemson blew past Queens 109-79 to run its record to 10-1 ahead of the Christmas break. The Tigers shot 71% in the first half and tied a school mark with 69 points before intermission.

P.J. Hall led the charge, scoring 20 points in just 10 minutes of floor time as the Tigers were building a 33-point halftime advantage. The all-conference forward finished with 27 points on 11 of 13 shooting in just 19 minutes. Hall was also a factor defensively, blocking four shots. While Hall ruled in the paint, Joseph Girard, III fired away from the perimeter, knocking down 4 of 7 from beyond the 3-point line to finish with 19 points. R.J. Godfrey came off the bench and found his touch quickly, making 8 of 9 from the field to also finish with 19 points.

For the Tigers, it was a nice bounce back effort following their only loss of the season, a 79-77 defeat at the hands of Memphis six days ago. Clemson’s players will get a short break to celebrate the holidays with their families before returning to the facility Dec. 26th.

Clemson (10-1, 1-0) faces one more non-conference opponent before returning to ACC play against Miami (FL). The Tigers will play host to Radford next Friday at 7 p.m. before traveling to face the Hurricanes on Jan. 3rd.
