CHARLOTTE: Syracuse enters the 2024 season with a lot of new faces in new places. The Dino Babers era has given way to the Fran Brown era in upstate New York. In addition to a new head coach, the Orange will welcome transfer quarterback Kyle McCord into the fold. McCord is coming off a successful season at Ohio State where the Mount Laurel, NJ, native threw for 3,170 yards and 24 touchdowns.
If Syracuse is to improve upon its 6-7 record from 2023, the Orange will have to contend with significant travel. Syracuse will travel a total of 11,156 miles this season, due in large part to a couple of cross-country trips to face UNLV and new conference foe California. The good news for the Orange is that thanks to the new ACC scheduling format, they will dodge matchups with Florida State and Clemson this time through the rotation.
