STRecruiting: Young Georgia quarterback checked out Clemson during the season, looking for more recruiting activity with the Tigers

Trace Hawkins

2028 QB Trace Hawkins (6-1 180) of Calhoun, GA, visited Clemson in early November for the Duke game. That was his first-ever visit to the campus, and he saw an offensive shootout between the Tigers and the Blue Devils.

“The game-day experience was very exciting,” Hawkins said. “We went to the facility and sat down with Coach (Tajh) Boyd and talked about my game, how it would be a great fit for the Clemson offense. The family-like environment between all staff and coaches really stuck out to me.”

Hawkins said he will be back at Clemson this spring as he looks to develop his relationship with the staff and perhaps land a scholarship when the Tigers start to offer the 2028 class this summer.

Florida, Georgia Tech, Duke, Auburn, Georgia, SMU, Indiana, Tulsa, and Auburn have offered Hawkins.

This season, he passed for 2510 yards and 24 touchdowns.
