Another successful week for the Clemson men’s and USC women’s basketball teams led to further improvement in their respective AP Top 25 polls. Clemson moved up two spots to #11 and South Carolina edged ahead one spot to #5.
The #11 ranking for Clemson is the highest for the Tigers since they were ranked 11th during the 2018 season. The Tigers received 905 points, 13 points back of 10th ranked Iowa State. One voter ranked the Tigers as high as fifth, and another had them as low as 19th.
Scott Hamilton of the Post and Courier, who is South Carolina’s AP voter, ranked the Tigers 11th.
The #5 ranking for USC marks the 181st time the Gamecocks have been ranked in the top five. The Gamecocks received 664 total points, 12 points behind fourth ranked UCLA.
