Beamer, Kennard grab AP SEC top honors with four #Gamecocks named to the AP All-SEC team

The postseason honors continue to roll in for members of the South Carolina football team. Wednesday head coach Shane Beamer was named the SEC Coach of the Year by the Associated Press, and defensive end Kyle Kennard was named the Defensive Player of the Year.

Beamer was already named this week as one of the nine finalists for the Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year Award, and Kennard was named the winner of the Nagurski Trophy. Tonight, Beamer and Kennard will be in Houston for the Lombardi Award announcement.

Kennard was joined on the AP All-SEC First Team by safety Nick Emmanwori. Two Gamecocks, running back Rocket Sanders and defensive tackle TJ Sanders, were named to the second team.
