South Carolina baseball coach Mark Kingston is making changes to his rotation ahead of this weekend’s big SEC matchup with 2nd ranked Arkansas. Kingston said at a press conference Thursday morning that Roman Kimball will return to the rotation and get the Friday night start. Normal Friday starter Eli Jones will now start on Saturday, and the Sunday starter will be announced later.

Kimball’s last start came March 17th at Ole Miss. He went 1.2 innings and did not allow a hit, but he did walk five. This season Kimball is 2-1 with a 4.71 ERA, but teams are only batting .169 against him.

The Razorbacks, who had been ranked #1 prior to losing two of three to Alabama last weekend, won a pair one-run mid-week games against Texas Tech and will come to Columbia with a 32-5 overall record and a 12-3 conference mark. The 20th ranked Gamecocks, who have won five of their last six, are 26-11 and 8-7.
