State-Ment Made! #Clemson rolls Wolfpack 96-71 (AUDIO)

Brevin Galloway set a new career mark with 28 points (Clemson Athletics)

Clemson bolstered its case for inclusion in the NCAA Tournament with an emphatic 96-71 victory at NC State, Saturday. Two games removed from a dreadful shooting performance at Louisville, the Tigers have regained their touch, knocking down 60% of their shots from the field and 53% from behind the 3-point line against the Wolfpack.

Brevin Galloway led four Tigers in double figures with a career-high 28 points. Galloway scored from all over the court, hitting 4 of 5 from behind the arc and 10 of 10 at the foul line. P.J. Hall nearly matched him, scoring 20 points on 9 of 11 shooting. Chase Hunter (15 points) and Hunter Tyson (12 points, 11 rebounds) joined Galloway and Hall in double figures.

After shooting a dismal percentage at Louisville, Clemson (21-8,13-5) has bounced back, scoring 187 points over the last two games. The Tigers hit 62% of their shots in the first half as they took a 54-29 lead into the locker room. Galloway started out hot, scoring 20 of his 28 before the break.

The win also vaults the Tigers back into the conference race as Brad Brownell’s club now sits in a tie for third place and just a game out of first. Clemson has a chance to give another boost to its resume with a trip to sixth-ranked Virginia, Tuesday. Tipoff from Charlottesville is set for 7 p.m.
