Coastal Carolina was the only team from South Carolina to make the NCAA D1 Baseball Tournament last season. The Chanticleers went to the ECU Regional where they were eventually eliminated by the home team in the final game of the regional. The Chants finished the year 39-20-1. They were picked fifth in the Sun Belt Pre-Season Poll by the coaches.
Chants head coach Gary Gilmore is entering his 28th season at Coastal They will open the campaign Friday at home with the Baseball at the Beach Tournament which will include VCU, Middle Tennessee and Fairfield.
