Shane Beamer’s coordinators met with the media, Thursday, following an extended morning practice session. Offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield, defensive coordinator Clayton White and Special Teams coordinator Pete Lembo took the podium to update the progress and challenges facing each unit.

Satterfield preached ball protection, explosiveness, and consistent improvement throughout camp for the offense.  He even praised QB Spencer Rattler as looking like a completely different player from the spring to now with regard to his reads, timing with receivers, and understanding of the playbook.

White had one common message throughout his turn at the podium, and that was studying the playbook. He wants his players to be a cohesive unit, with everybody knowing exactly where their teammates will be on the field, so as to help with gang tackling and shutting down open gaps.

Lembo spoke on topics ranging from the top kick return candidates all the way to his new nicknames for players and favorite Hootie and the Blowfish song.

Similar to yesterday, there was an air of confidence surrounding these coaches that just feels different, and even better than last season.  Fans will see if the product matches the sentiment when USC plays host to Georgia State on Sept. 3rd.
