#STRecruiting: #Clemson next stop for Alabama safety

Kylon Griffin

SAF Kylon Griffin (6-1 180) of Montgomery, AL made an official visit to Nebraska last weekend. The end of this month he will take an official visit to Southern Cal. This coming weekend he will see Clemson. Griffin will be joined by his parents. His teammate, LB TJ Dudley, was going to visit Clemson this weekend as well, but he’s changed this weekend to Florida and will visit Clemson next weekend.

Clemson, Nebraska and Southern Cal are the final three for Griffin. His visit to Lincoln last weekend pleasantly surprised him.

“I liked it a lot.  It was good.  It was more than I expected,” Griffin said.  “I didn’t know the city would be that big and have a lot of stuff to do.  And their fan base is still very strong.”

Clemson coaches Mickey Conn, Mike Reed and Wes Goodwin made an in-home visit with Griffin on Monday to set the stage for his visit to Clemson.

“They were just telling me that I’m going to love it, which I know I am,” Griffin said.  “The fan base is strong there too.  The campus is great.  The coaches are great, which is obvious to me.  And that I’m going to really have a good time and I’ll love Clemson.”

Griffin will spend his time at Clemson meeting the people and checking into the academics. He also was to learn more about what the secret sauce is for the Tigers’ rise to national prominence.

“I just want to know how they’ve been so successful.  That’s really it,” Griffin said.  “I know they are a real successful team with a high standard.  I want to know how they get that job done so well year in and year out.”

Griffin, who once was committed to Mississippi State, is using these visits to gain clarity on his decision. At this point, he said his mind is still too clouded to be close to making a decision.
