#STRecruiting: Speedy Florida receiver has strong interest in #Gamecocks

Tray Tolliver

USC receivers coach Justin Stepp continues to address the need for speed at his position, and one prospect he feels would bring plenty of that to the Gamecocks is 2023 WR Tray Tolliver (5-11 170) of Lake City, FL. Stepp has offered Tolliver and he was going to visit this weekend, but a death in his family has forced him to postpone the visit.

“They are just like one of my top schools and I just want to come up there,” Tolliver.  “I’ve already got my cousin (Jaheim Bell) that plays for South Carolina. Mainly I like the way everybody supports South Carolina.  I like the coaching staff.  I just like everything about it to be honest.”

Tolliver has seen the Gamecocks play a lot, like four times, because of Bell’s presence on the team. And he can tell they could use a guy like him at receiver.

“I’ll fit in because they have explosive receivers, but they really don’t have fast receivers,” Tolliver said.  “I’m all that, and a good route runner.  They don’t have a lot of speed.  Coach Stepp was saying he needs speed, and I feel like I fit in in that category.”

Last season Tolliver caught 25 passes for 532 yards. He scored 11 touchdowns including four on returns. He also played some Wildcat quarterback for his team.

Tolliver also has offers from Cincinnati, Louisville and Arizona among others.
