Wingo talks about return to #Gamecocks as assistant coach (AUDIO)

New Gamecock assistant Scott Wingo in action in 2011

Scott Wingo was a part of two national championship baseball teams at USC in 2010 and 2011. One of the most popular players of his time, Wingo has returned to Columbia as an assistant coach under Mark Kingston. He spent the last two seasons as a volunteer coach at Notre Dame and helped the Irish reach the NCAA Tournament last season.

Earlier this month, Wingo joined us on SportsTalk to discuss his return to his alma mater and what his role will be.

Gamecock nation couldn’t be any happier to have Scott back home! Arguably the most beloved Gamecock baseball player of all time.
