#STRecruiting Notebook 7-21 (UPDATED TUESDAY PM)

Gaffney DT Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins Tuesday released a new short list. He has added Alabama and Virginia Tech and dropped Penn State and Florida State. The carryovers are USC, North Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia. Ingram-Dawkins nearly announced a commitment in mid-May but postponed that announcement saying he was moving a little too fast and needed more time on his decision. In his Tuesday tweet, Ingram-Dawkins included that he would be “committing soon.”

USC offered OT Kamron Scott (6-4 321) of Converse, TX. He’s a 3-star in the 247Sports Composite and ranked nationally #55 among guards. He was committed to UTSA but decommitted June 9th. His other offers include Houston, Nevada, Hawaii, Ole Miss, Tulane, UCF, SMU, Louisiana Tech and Louisiana.

USC offered 2022 CB Avery Powell (5-11 170) of Jersey City, NJ. He’s rated as a three-star in the 247Sports Composite and ranked as the #30 cornerback nationally in his class, and the #6 prospect in New Jersey. He also has offers from Arkansas, West Virginia, Pitt, Maryland, Virginia Tech, Nebraska, Syracuse, Boston College and Kansas.

PK Will Fowler of Spartanburg was in touch with Alabama Tuesday. He has offers from West Virginia, Army and Air Force and has drawn interest from Clemson.

2022 WR Jaleel Skinner of Greer was offered by Georgia.

USC target WR Malachi Bennett of Fairfield, AL was set to announce his college decision Friday. But Monday he announced he will delay his decision a little longer. USC and Ole Miss have been two the strongest with him. He also has Georgia, Louisville and UAB on his short list. Bennett, the nephew of former Vanderbilt star receiver Earl Bennett, has said he and Gamecock recruiter and receivers coach Joe Cox have developed a strong relationship. He has scheduled an official visit to USC for October 10th.

USC made the short list of five with DE Zyun Reeves (6-7 245) of Kernersville, NC. The others on the short list are NC State, Michigan State, Florida State and Virginia. Reeves has said he and USC defensive line coach Tracy Rocker have developed a strong relationship and he will take one of his official visits with the Gamecocks.

USC target DL Marlin Dean of Ellenwood, GA, who decommitted from Georgia over the weekend, was offered by Indiana.

USC offered 2022 DT Christen Miller (6-5 285) of Ellenwood, GA. He’s rated a 4-star prospect in the 247Sports Composite and the #15 defensive tackle in the 2022 class nationally. Some of his other offers are Georgia, Virginia Tech, LSU, Auburn, Coastal Carolina, East Carolina, Nebraska, Tennessee, Florida State, Florida, Arkansas and Kentucky.
