Will Muschamp (File)

The joke that has become the Jordan Burch recruiting saga continued to play out late Wednesday afternoon as for a second time, USC coach Will Muschamp held a signing day press conference unable to talk about the most heralded commitment in his 2020 class. Burch, who committed to the Gamecocks in December and who went thru a signing ceremony charade at Hammond School Wednesday, apparently had not sent in his LOI to USC prior to the press conference.

Muschamp was able to talk about his four signees of the day…WR Ger-Cari Caldwell, LB Gilber Edmond, RB ZaQuandre White and DL Alex Huntley. Muschamp said those four give him 24 initial signees for the class leaving him room for one more.

The Gamecock’s class is currently ranked 18th nationally in the 247Sports composite, and that ranking is influenced by having Burch on the committed list.

Muschamp also touched briefly on spring practice which begins February 26th. He said transfer quarterback Collin Hill won’t play in the spring due to his knee injury and likely won’t be cleared before May at the earliest.

  1. Jordan Burch is playing Carolina like a fiddle. I really don’t think he serious about playing for Carolina. I say forget him and move on!!
