Brent Thompson /File

Brent Thompson enters a key fourth season as the head coach of The Citadel. He brought his ground dominating offense with him from Lenoir-Rhyne when Mike Houston was named head coach in 2014. The next season the Bulldogs won a share of the Southern Conference championship, beat USC and won an FCS playoff game. When Houston left for James Madison, Thompson was promoted to head coach and won the SOCON again with an 8-0 league mark, part of a 10 win season. But the last two seasons have produced a total of 10 wins. But a 3-1 finish last season, which included playing Alabama to a 10-10 halftime tie before falling back in the second half, has given Thompson a lot of hope for 2019.
