OL Issiah Walker of Miami, who now checks in at 6-4, 302 pounds, has been in the USC camp as a commitment for over a year. And while he measures his commitment strength at “90 percent”, he does not foresee his official visit this weekend as the time to make it 100%. But he does see it as a chance for his parents to see what he saw in the Gamecocks’ program in his previous two visits.

“This visit is mostly about my parents,” Walker said.  “I really want my parents to kind of fall in love with the places.  I’ve already seen what I want to see last summer when I went up there.  It’s more about my parents right now to see if they have a good relationship with the coaches.”

That relationship with the coaches is something that’s very important to Walker. It’s one of the primary reasons he committed to the Gamecocks when he did. It would take that some kind of comfort level somewhere else for Walker to decide not to stick with his commitment.

“I’d have to feel really comfortable at a school,” he said.  “That’s one thing with South Carolina, I feel  comfortable at that school.  That’s really why I committed.  I really love the school and I feel comfortable with the coaches and the school.  If another school has that, then maybe, but other that, no school has gotten to that point.”

Walker said USC offensive line coach Eric Wolford was down to see him during spring practice and he’s been in regular contact with him, plus he also hears from Will Muschamp.

Walker has no other official visits set at this point but he plans to set one with LSU. He said Miami, Florida, Florida State, Penn State and Kentucky are others hot after him. He wants to take other official visits and said he won’t finalize a decision until after his senior season.
