DT Seth Tillman of South Pointe will make his long-awaited commitment announcement on Saturday at around 3:00 PM. Tillman made official visits to South Carolina, Clemson, Georgia, and Michigan in June. The Gamecocks have had a stronghold on South Pointe over the years, but the projections for Tillman have been on Clemson. He would be the Tigers’ 25th commitment, fourth from the state and second at defensive tackle. Last season he had 61 tackles with 27 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks.
There are three other players who have had USC and/or Clemson involvement this recruiting season who are announcing Saturday, but none will impact the Gamecocks or Tigers. SAF Kennedy Green of Douglasville, GA, who had a USC offer and took an official visit, is expected to stick with his commitment to Mississippi State. LB Mikahi Allen of Ramsey, NJ, was also offered by USC and made a spring practice visit, but not an official visit. Texas A&M has been the reported favorite. And LB Roman Igwebuike of Chicago took an official visit to Clemson but is expected to land at Notre Dame.
OL Mike Westerfield of Roswell, GA, who was offered by USC and visited unofficially in April, committed Friday to Georgia.
