Summerville High continues to produce major college talent at the wide receiver position. In the 2027 class, Jaiden Kelly-Murray is currently committed to Colorado, though he was previously committed to South Carolina. In the 2028 class, Teru Davis (6-0 170) is the name to know.

Davis began his career at Goose Creek. Last season at Summerville, he started to make some waves with 42 catches for 850 yards and six touchdowns. He’s still young in the recruiting game, but things are starting to pick up, and he has some schools starting to show serious interest.

“I’ll probably say Virginia Tech and Wake Forest. But I’m just getting started. So I still got a good bit to go,” Davis said. ” I didn’t. go to any camps, but I did take some visits. I went to USC, Auburn, and Virginia Tech.”

USC receivers coach Mike Furrey knows a talented receiver when he sees one. He has seen Davis, and he is starting to pick up his interest as well.

“They talk to me every day. I’m just waiting for them to pull the trigger,” Davis said. “I like South Carolina, my grandpa’s favorite team. I could see myself playing there. Coach Furrey tells me he likes my speed, likes the way I get in and out of breaks. He likes my hands. I mean, he likes a lot about me. We got a pretty good relationship.”

Davis has been to USC several times for games, camps, seven-on-sevens, and recruiting events. He said he will go to plenty of games at USC this season as he receives the invites from the staff. He is also going to visit Auburn for the LSU game, Virginia Tech for the Georgia Tech game, and Wake Forest for the game with Stanford.

Davis, who said he grew up a Clemson fan, visited there last season for the Troy game, and he plans to return for a game this season, but he’s not heard much from receivers coach Tyler Grisham since last fall.

Davis is preparing for his season-opening game Friday night against Sumter. That should be a good test for him and his offense against a stout defense, and he’s ready to show people what he can do.

“I just see me putting fear in the DB, just feeling like I’m better than the DB with my explosiveness,” Davis said.

Davis is hoping that explosiveness will also lead to him exploding on the recruiting market. He currently has offers from Virginia, North Carolina, Appalachian State, Charlotte, Wake Forest, Coastal Carolina, Liberty, East Carolina,
