2020 WR Jalin Hyatt (6-2 165) continues to impress at camp sites and the major offers continue to come in. He worked out for Virginia Tech Sunday and landed an offer. Ditto for Duke earlier this month. He camped at USC last week and opened eyes with his speed and he’ll be at Clemson Wednesday.
“They are very excited about me going to their camp and they can’t wait to see me,” Hyatt said of Clemson. “Other than that, I haven’t talked to them fully but I’m going to see them Wednesday. I talked to Coach Streeter and he was just happy that I signed up for the camp. He said I was very fast. I’m going to go up there Wednesday and see how it is.”
USC had Hyatt in a camp last week and ran some very quick 40s apparently in the 4.3 category.
“They said they are very interested and they are going to recruit me heavy,” Hyatt said. “They didn’t offer but I definitely like them. Since it’s my hometown and since my whole family, we grew up South Carolina fans, they definitely would up at the top (with an offer).”
Virginia Tech coaches also had glowing words for Hyatt when he ran for them.
“They said I was big and fast,” Hyatt said. “Coach Shibest, the the tight ends coach there, came to one of our spring practices and met me in person and told me to come to their camp. They really like me. They offered me time I got out of the camp. They said I’m very fast and explosive.”
Hyatt had 49 catches for 937 yards and 13 touchdowns for a state championship team last season.
“They (coaches) said I’m very good in my first step,” Hyatt said. “They said my get in and get out speed was very good. My hands, they said that was a key to being a receiver and my hands are a big option on that.”
Hyatt said he’s also looking at Tennessee for an unofficial visit in the near future.
