All week 6-7 Christian Brown of Lower Richland has had college coaches come to see him. USC’s Frank Martin was one of those. Thursday he returned the favor and made the short driver over to USC with his mom for a visit with Martin.
“My mom was able to see the facilities and new dorms,” Brown said. “We were able to talk to almost everybody about how their roles could help me achieve my long term goals. I’ve been on campus plenty of times but today was special. I actually felt like we were starting a genuine relationship outside of recruiting.”
Clemson, Virginia, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech and UNLV also were in this week to see Brown. He has no other home or road visits planned right now but he knows coaches will be watching his AAU games during this live recruiting period.
Brown has not gotten to the point where he has a short list and he wants to see who else jumps in to his recruiting after the live period. USC and Clemson would seem to have spots with him.
“I think ACC and SEC are great conferences to play in. The fact they are both top programs in my home state makes it even better,” Brown said. “They have an advantage but I would like to build the relationship. Both programs have had recent success on the hardwood. That speaks volumes.”
Some of Brown’s other offers are Connecticut, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, Auburn, Florida State, Florida, Tennessee, LSU, Georgia and Kansas.
