DB Andrew Booth of Lawrenceville, GA made a return trip to Clemson last Saturday for the spring game. That was his second visit this year with the Tigers, the first coming for a junior day in January. The Tigers have been selling him on their need at cornerback and after watching the spring game, Booth is convinced the Tigers have a need.
“Everything was good. I had a great time,” Booth said. “I got to see where they are coming from when they said the secondary is thin in spots. I got to see that for myself. I’m very close to everybody on that staff and I talked to everybody. We talked about family and how great of a person I am. The atmosphere was great”
Booth is considered a top cover-corner prospect and is coming off a season of 66 tackles and 4 interceptions. He thinks the Clemson secondary scheme would work well with him.
“I see myself fitting in pretty good. Anywhere I go I’m going to have to come in and compete,” he said.
Booth also has visited USC, Auburn, Georgia and Tennessee and said he might return to Knoxville for the spring game this weekend. He said he does hear from the Gamecocks and is looking for another visit there in the future.
Booth said he’s not ready to name a list of favorites but he said some schools standing out right now are Clemson, USC, Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee, Ohio State and Florida State.
He wants to make his decision before his season.
