The Clemson Tigers bounced back from a 5-2 opening game loss to Notre Dame to sweep the Fighting Irish with wins of 6-3 and 5-2 in Sunday’s doubleheader.
Kier Meredith, whose presence at the top of the lineup has been well-received despite a late start, hit his first home run in the series, highlighting a weekend where he went 4-for-10 and reached base sixtimes.
Jordan Greene had the best week with the bat, going 5-for-13 with two homers, six RBIs, four runs, three walks, a .471 on-base percentage and two steals in four games.
Brooks Crawford set the tone on the mound in the first Sunday contest with seven innings of one-run ball saving the Tigers bullpen. Jake Higginbotham’s five innings in the nightcap ensured Clemson would only need three relief arms in the twin-bill.
The Tigers finished the week 3-1 overall, following their Tuesday 6-1 win over 18th-ranked Coastal Carolina.
