The decision by Rice graduate transfer safety JT Ibe to join USC for his final season appears to be a win-win for both sides. After three straight losing seasons with the Owls and a coaching change, Ibe was looking for a solid program with a higher platform to show off his skills. And USC, after losing its starting safeties from last season, was looking for experienced help.
So, in USC Ibe found a team coming off a nine win season and with a lot of optimism for 2018, and in Ibe USC found a veteran who can play either safety position and contribute right away.
