Clemson showed no emotional let down following the thrilling series win over USC last weekend by going 5-0 this week including a sweep of Georgia Tech in the opening series of ACC play. The Tigers also defeated Wofford and Michigan State and are 15-1 going into this week. The Tigers will host Charleston Southern Tuesday and then will have NC State at DKS for three this weekend.
The Tigers had their bats right this week hitting .385 as a team and cranking out eight home runs, three of them by Seth Beer who hit one in each of the games with Georgia Tech. He has six on the season.
Patrick Cromwell batted .429 for the week while Chris Williams, who got back behind the plate for game two Saturday, hit .368 for the week. And Logan Davidson had a strong week batting .333 with six RBIs.
On the season the Tigers are hitting .268 with 23 home runs
Clemson pitching allowed just 15 earned runs over the five games striking out 40 and walking 13. Opponents managed just two homers in the five games. Jake Higginbotham was the only regular starter to earn a victory. Spencer Strider got a mid-week start and a win and getting wins out of the bullpen were Carson Spiers, Holt Jones and Ryan Miller.
Collectively this season Clemson pitching as a .284 ERA and teams are batting .236 against the Tigers. Defensively they have committed 13 errors.
