DB JT Ibe, a graduate transfer from Rice, took an official visit to Indiana over the weekend. He has also been to Iowa State. He plans one more official visit before making his decision and that will be to USC.
Ibe said he enjoyed his visit to Indiana and the people there were good to him. And while he liked what he saw in and around the football program, he also realized something else about the Hoosiers.
“I realized it’s a basketball school. That was like the only negative. The players said that you might not get as much recognition there playing football because it’s a basketball school. But, all the players like the program, the coach and everything,” Ibe said.
As for USC, Ibe said he will take his official visit with the Gamecocks the weekend of March 3rd so that he can take in a couple of spring practices. He has been in regular contact with Gamecock head coach Will Muschamp last talking to him Sunday.
“He was just catching up and said they were going to set up a visit,” he said. “I think he’s pretty excited about me. He wants to get me down and see program and see if I like it.”
After the USC visit, Ibe said he will quickly make a decision on his next stop and he will enroll at his new school in May.
