WR Justyn Ross of Phenix City, AL is one of the most coveted recruits nationally still available for Wednesday’s National Signing Day. He is down to Clemson, Alabama and Auburn and his coach feels Ross has basically made up his mind.
“Honestly, I think he knows, he’s just trying to keep everyone on the outside,” said Central High coach Jamey Dubose. “I think he’s known for a while. It’s a big decision for an 18 year old guy, a lot of things to take in. He wants to have a great career like he had in high school and wants to be around people he’s comfortable with.”
Clemson has made a concerted effort with Ross led by receivers coach Jeff Scott and area coach Todd Bates. That effort has not gone unnoticed by Dubose.
“Jeff Scott and Todd Bates, I don’t know if I’ve had anybody recruit better than they have,” he said. “They have sold Clemson and done an outstanding job. Those two guys have done an unbelievable job recruiting.”
Ross will reveal his choice Wednesday at 1:15 PM Eastern on ESPN2. He plans to have a baseball cap for each school at the ready. He also cut a video for his mom, who is military, but that won’t be shown on TV. It will be aired at the school and also on Twitter.
