Conway LB Jaylen Moody made an official visit to Alabama over the weekend. He saw the trophies, the facilities and he visited with head coach Nick Saban. He even got a one-on-one ride with Saban in his golf cart. All part of an exciting experience for Moody who has gone from off the radar to having the choice of three SEC West programs this week.
“It was really nice there. They showed a lot of love. I had a great time at Alabama,” Moody said. “They went thru the whole process with me, breaking it down. They said I’m doing a lot of college things right now already have the traits to be pretty good with the natural instincts I already have.”
Moody, of course, got a tour of the facilities and a look at all the national championship trophies in the case. He said it was an eye opening experience to get a inside look at the kings of college football.
“It’s an historical school and I can’t say amazed because I now they have them (title trophies), but it’s great to be there and see it all.”
Moody said he had dinner Friday night, lunch Saturday afternoon and breakfast Sunday morning with Saban. He was at Saban’s house Sunday morning and that’s when the two got some private time during a ride in his golf cart.
“We had a pretty good conversation,” Moody said.
Clemson, he said, has shown some late interest, at first talking about a grayshirt but more recently about a possible offer. But Moody said an offer now from the Tigers wouldn’t turn him away from his other three finalists.
“It’s kind of too late now,” he said. “Before it probably would have. It used to be my dream school so it probably would have but now it’s probably too late. It’s out the window now.”
Moody said there’s not favorite among his final three and he won’t reveal a decision until around Noon on Signing Day.
