The whirlwind courtship of DB Trevon Flowers of Tucker, GA but Clemson and Tennessee is over, except for a few phone calls over the next few days. Flowers, who is also considering Kentucky, visited Clemson and Tennessee officially over the past four days and will now work on his decision.
“It was good, the people all around and the environment. I liked the coaches. I liked everything,” Flowers said of Tennessee. “The stadium is huge. Everything seemed pretty good. There are a lot more people than than at Clemson.”
Flowers offered up a further comparison of the two programs he just visited.
“I feel like Tennessee is building,” he said. “Clemson is there, Clemson is at its peak. Tennessee got it in them to get better though. They’ve got great coaches now. Coach Pruitt is a great guy, great coach.”
Flowers, who also plans to play baseball in college, also met with the Tennessee baseball staff on his visit. He originally was a Kentucky baseball signee before getting his release from that.
Flowers said he’ll probably wait until Wednesday to announce but his decision could come earlier.
“There’s no number one yet,” he said. “They are all great schools. I’ve just got to talk about what will be best for me.”
Flowers said he talked with Clemson safeties coach Mickey Conn Saturday and Sunday. He’s also talked with Kentucky.
