OL Richard Gouraige of Tampa continues to mull over his decision with Clemson, Florida, Auburn and Ole Miss in contention. He’s actually been committed to Florida but that was to the previous staff, so he is seriously looking at his other options.
Gouraige has taken official visits to Clemson and Ole Miss. Auburn was in on Monday to see him at his school and is trying to get him in for a visit this weekend. But so is Florida. As of Monday he was undecided about his next visit or if he’ll take any more according to his coach.
“I’m not sure if he’s going to take any more,” coach Bob Dare said. “I’m not sure he wants to continue. I think he’s enjoyed the process, he’s gotten to know some good people. He’s trying to find the right fit. Proximity to home is something that’s going to be important as well.”
Dare added that Clemson made a good impression on Gouraige on his official visit earlier this month.
“It’s the men that are there, their relationship, Coach Swinney and Coach Elliott,” Dare said. “What’s there not lot like about it?”
Swinney has not yet had his in home visit according to Dare adding that he expects that to come late in the process. He expects Gouraige to wait until the end to make his announcement as the school has a signing ceremony planned for February 7th.
