We’re less than a month away from the February 7th signing day to wrap up the 2018 football recruiting campaign and the recruiting resumes in earnest later this week with the end of the dead period Friday. In person contact and official visits can resume, and USC and Clemson will be active over the next month seeking to fill out the remaining spots in their classes.
At this point, USC has no official visits scheduled for this weekend. Clemson has two defensive backs scheduled for visits based on comments from the players. They are Leon O’Neal of Cypress Springs, TX and DJ Brown of Washington, DC.
O’Neal, a former Texas A&M commitment, has taken official visits to Oklahoma and Texas A&M. He also has Georgia on his short list.
Brown is a Virginia commitment and picked up offers last week from Clemson and USC. He also is scheduled to visit Cal January 19th and plans to visit USC later in the month.
Other scheduled official visits for this weekend, as stated by the prospects, include USC targets OL Dylan Wonnum to Auburn, DL Rick Sandidge to Georgia and DE Dennis Briggs to Louisville, and Clemson target WR Justyn Ross to Florida.
Briggs is scheduled for USC January 19th and Florida State on the 26th. He also plans to visit Miami.
Clemson target DB Brendan Radley-Hiles of IMG Academy committed to Oklahoma during Saturday’s Army AA Game.
Blythewood product LB Hassan Belton committed to UTEP. He played this season at Butler JC, KS. Was at USC in 2016 as a transfer from Western Carolina.
USC offered a preferred walk-on spot to OL/DL Noah Henderson of Marlboro County.
2019 SF Christian Brown of Lower Richland was at Georgia Saturday for the Alabama game according to Rivals.
