Earlier this week Clemson became one of the first offers for 2019 LB Jaylon Scott (6-2 220) of Shelby, NC. Scott also has offers from North Carolina, NC State and Maryland. He was thrilled to get the offer from the Tigers.
“Its means a lot,” Scott said. “That offer is very, very big. “I absolutely love Clemson.”
Clemson coach Brent Venables and Mickey Conn stopped by Shelby to check on Scott and make the offer and he liked what he heard from the coaches.
Coach Venables and Coach Conn were talking to me about how they love how I can play in multiple spots, putting pressure off the outside from defensive and playing coverage at linebacker,” Scott said. “They like how I play in space and things like that.”
Scott said right now North Carolina and NC State also are high on his list along with Clemson. He added that he camped at USC prior to his sophomore season but has only received mail from the Gamecocks since then.
Last season he was in on 85 tackles with five sacks.
