The end of recruiting is in sight for Dorman OL Jordan McFadden. He remains a Virginia Tech commitment but Clemson has grown larger in his mirror during the season. This weekend he will take his official visit with the Tigers with his mother, uncle and cousin joining him. Soon after the weekend is complete, McFadden plans to make the final call between the Tigers and Hokies.
“I’m excited about it,” McFadden said about the upcoming visit. “I just want to experience the family type of love they have there and see how everything is on a daily basis. I’ve just got to think about it and pray on it and make a decision.”
McFadden has made several unofficial visits to Clemson and said what really impressed him was the new football operations building. He also has a good feeling for offensive line coach Robbie Caldwell and the job he does.
“I like him a lot just as a person,” he said. “I’ve known him for awhile. They are having success running the ball so he’s doing a good job with them and I just think he’s a good coach and a good guy.”
McFadden said the Tigers and Virginia Tech are in touch on a regular basis. He’s already taken his official and some unofficial visits to Virginia Tech and his commitment is still in place at this point.
“It’s still pretty strong, I still really like them, but I’m just taking it day by day and just seeing how the visit goes this weekend,” McFadden said. “I’d say the last time I was up there it (commitment) got stronger. It was my official and being up there and getting to sit down with the coaches I’d say it’s a little stronger.”
McFadden said he hopes to make his final decision within a week of the Clemson visit.
