The money games are here for Clemson as we enter November. The Tigers travel to NC State this Saturday for a showdown with the Wolfpack that likely will determine the ACC’s Atlantic Division champion. The following week a team that is identified as Florida State, but in few ways resembles Florida State, comes to Death Valley. Win those two, and the last two against The Citadel and USC, and the Tigers will head to the ACC Championship Game probably in position to reach the playoffs for the third straight season.
The first of the College Football Playoff rankings comes out tonight. Clemson has been ranked in the top four in each one the last two seasons and will be a close call for that tonight. But the rankings, as Dabo Swinney pointed out the last two seasons, will take care of themselves.
Tuesday at his press conference he was mostly concerned with NC State and the problems the Wolfpack can create for his team.

On the injury front, Swinney said defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence, who had his lower leg rolled up on in the Georgia Tech game, is fine. He’s also hoping cornerback Mark Fields will be back this week. But another corner, Marcus Edmond, remains out for the game at this point though he’s back in practice.
