At 5-2 entering the bye week off of a win, South Carolina Head Coach Will Muschamp feels like his team is in a good place
Despite injuries to his starting wide receiver, strong-side linebacker and now running back Rico Dowdle, Muschamp feels content with the mark they sit at with five games to play.
Muschamp did say that Rico Dowdle will be out and have surgery on Tuesday or Wednesday, but also said that OL Zack Bailey, Cory Helms, and Malik Young should be back in time for the game against Vanderbilt a week from Sunday.
According to Muschamp, the coaching staff will focus just as much on giving rest to their banged-up players, but also will focus on corrections from the Tennessee contest to get ready for the final stretch drive.
Muschamp believes the Gamecocks should spend equal time concerning themselves but also get themselves ready for Vanderbilt and the final five games of the season.
Much of the consternation following the contest centered around the clock operation at Neyland Stadium, when just three seconds came off the clock during the game’s penultimate play, leaving the Volunteers one last chance to score. Muschamp says that’s a sequence their coaching staff sent in to the league for a review.
