Oklahoma State University released a one-line statement late Thursday announcing Lamont Evans has been “terminated for cause”.
Evans’ firing comes on the heels of a federal probe into alleged crimes committed by Evans dating back to his time at South Carolina and in Stillwater.
Court documents released Tuesday revealed that Evans allegedly received $22,000 in bribes in exchanging for directing players toward the services of a particular financial advisor.
The former assistant under Frank Martin was among 10 arrested and charged Tuesday in various accusations brought forth by the US Justice Department exposing the dark underbelly of NCAA Basketball recruiting.
Evans appeared before a judge and posted $50,000 bond on Wednesday and is due back in court October 10th in New York.
