Last Saturday’s showdown in Atlanta between Alabama and Florida State attracted major targets for both schools. Among those reportedly in the Florida State section was Clemson quarterback commitment Trevor Lawrence. Alabama and FSU target WR Justyn Ross of Phenix City, AL also was there. Lawrence likely will be at Clemson this Saturday for the Auburn game and Ross said Sunday night he also will be there along with his mother and grandmother.
Ross is a highly regarded receiver on the national level and has narrowed his list to Clemson, Alabama, Auburn, Florida State and Florida. He got the chance to see two of his favorites last weekend and he’ll see another two this Saturday in Death Valley. But the focus will be on Clemson.
“I like Clemson a lot. I’m still undecided and still stuck on my top five, and Clemson has a good chance,” Ross said. “As a receiver you always want the ball and always want a team that can throw it around and Clemson does that. And as a receiver you’re going to always need a good quarterback. I’ve already seen that they throw the ball around a lot. I just want to feel the environment because that will be my first game at Clemson.”
Ross said he will take official visits to his five favorites but he has not scheduled any. He does not claim a leader and expects to carry his decision to Signing Day in February.
