While many would argue the “dog days” of camp are upon us, the Clemson coaching staff still feels there’s more work to be done before they open against Kent State.
After working out the kinks from Wednesday’s situational scrimmage, Co-Offensive Coordinator Tony Elliott was peppered with questions about surging freshman running back Travis Etienne. The Jennings, Louisiana native led the team in rushing during Wednesday’s 11-on-11 work, and has seen his playing time increase with Adam Choice sidelined with a hamstring injury.
Choice returned to the practice field today, but Elliott feels that Etienne is well on his way to mimicking a Clemson running back of the recent past:
