DB CJ Smith of West Palm Beach, FL reopened his recruiting in July by decommitting from Florida and since then has moved forward with his recruiting to the point he has four of his official visits lined up. He will visit Louisville September 15th followed by a trip to USC on the September 23rd. He goes to Oklahoma October 7th and then to Ole Miss October 21st. Oklahoma is his favorite but he wants to check out the others closely, including the Gamecocks.
Smith said he has been in touch with defensive coordinator and secondary coach Travaris Robinson.
“He said that I would be a great fit for the team and he’d love to see me up there and can’t wait to get me up there September 23rd for me to see everything and see how the program works,” said Smith who has never been to USC.
Smith said Oklahoma and Ole Miss are pushing for him the hardest at this point. He said his decision will come down to a few factors.
“Just a great organization,” he said. “A great coaching staff with which I can get along. A parent system coaching style, something like that. And a great place with a great atmosphere.”
Smith said he’d like to make his decision in late December after his season or his recruiting could carry over to January.
