Former Clemson Tigers QB DeShaun Watson threw for 179 yards and ran for a touchdown in his first NFL preseason action for the Houston Texans.
The Panthers, without QB Cam Newton, defeated the Texans, 27-17, with former Gamecock Damiere Byrd stealing the show for Carolina with a pair of touchdown catches.
Watson, who attracted many orange-clad Clemson fans at Bank of America Stadium, did not disappoint, going 15-for-25 playing the entire second quarter and most of the second half.
