TE Mustapha Muhammad of Missouri City, TX visited Clemson in January and the Tigers have kept up their efforts to convince him to come east again. And they have been successful as Muhammad has set an official visit with the Tigers for November 11th. Clemson is on his short list along with Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Texas, Texas A&M, UCLA and Southern Cal.
Muhammad said over the months since he first visited Clemson he’s been in contact with the coaches and thru those conversations they have bridged the gap that exists by him living in Texas.
“Just me and the coaches building relationships and the rest of my family eager to get back for a visit since I had so much fun last time,” Muhammad said.
The tight end is a major part of the Clemson offense when the Tigers have the right guy in the position. Dwayne Allen, Michael Palmer and Jordan Leggett are three recent tight ends at Clemson who are or have been in the NFL Muhammad feels he has the skills to work successfully in the Clemson offense.
“I feel as if I fit very well in their offense due to the various pass concepts that they use in their somewhat spread system,” Muhammad said. “I could be a mismatch in any offense, honestly, but an even better one in Clemson’s because they have quarterbacks that can get it to me.”
Muhammad said he will release his other official visits next week.
