The South Carolina Gamecocks practiced on Tuesday, and it’s become increasingly evident that QB Jake Bentley has a charmed life despite his lack of game experience.
The true sophomore steps into his first full year as a starter with an All-Conference hopeful in Deebo Samuel on one side, Bryan Edwards on the other, and lots of pure young talent waiting in the wings. Add the three-headed monster in the backfield of Rico Dowdle, A.J. Turner and Ty’Son Williams, and the Gamecocks are primed to put points on the board in 2017.
SportsTalk spoke with Bentley following Tuesday’s practice:
Williams, the transfer from North Carolina, has a lot of hunger for his first collegiate action in more than a year. His first action as a Gamecock will come in the stadium where he played his first college contest.
Edwards, the sophomore from Conway, notices the hungry competition in the wide receiver room. He believes that competition will lead to big dividends for the USC offense.
