Holiday recruiting fireworks start early with an announcement Monday by former Blythewood standout Jordyn Adams, now of Cary, NC. He is at The Opening in Beaverton, OR and will make his choice of Clemson or North Carolina known via the NFL Network, the first time that media outlet has stepped into the high school recruiting arena. Adams was a quarterback at Blythewood but is now a full time receiver, and a top baseball prospect to boot. He has liked Clemson but the fact his father is the defensive line coach at North Carolina no doubt carries a lot of weight with him.
Tuesday could be a banner day for USC as DE Jabari Ellis and RB Lavonte Valentine are set to announce. Ellis is a Lake Marion product now at Georgia Military JC. He’s down to USC and NC State. And Valentine, one of the fastest players in the country out of Melbourne, FL, has the Gamecocks on his short list with Kentucky, Southern Cal, Notre Dame, Louisville, Florida and LSU.
Dorman OL Jordan McFadden also will announce Tuesday. He’s been favoring Virginia Tech over Duke.
DB Chandler Jones of Miami named a top five of USC, Vanderbilt, Louisville, Utah and Kentucky.
Oklahoma RB commitment TJ Pledger of IMG Academy told 247Sports he will take officials to Clemson, Oklahoma and Nebraska.
OL Jackson Carman of Fairfield, OH told an Ohio State recruiting site at The Opening he’s undecided where he will visit July 21st, Clemson for the All-In Cookout or Ohio State for Friday Night Lights Camp. Carman said he will simply show up at one of those places on that day.
USC 2017 recruit LHP Tyler Mettetal of South Elgin, IL has decided not to come to USC after the coaching change according to John Whittle of TheBigSpur. He’s the 2nd class defection since the departure of Chad Holbrook.
