Probably no recruit has visited Clemson more this spring than DL Darnell Jefferies of Covington, GA. He was back for a fourth time Saturday for the spring game and brought along his parents, other family members and his girlfriend. And his visit is not over. Jefferies is staying the night and going back over to the football offices Sunday for further meetings with the coaches. But he said no commitment is planned as he is still working his way thru the process. “Today was good, it was a great game between the two teams and I got to see what kind of defenses they were running and things like that. The visit just mainly helps me get a better understanding for Clemson and a better feel for Clemson, and to know everything about Clemson. The coaches are basically just telling me to do what’s right for me and keep balling to be the best.” Coming up Jefferies will visit Mississippi State on Tuesday or Wednesday and Florida this Saturday. He also is down for a Georgia visit on the 29th. He wants to make his decision before his senior season.
PK BT Potter of South Pointe returned to Clemson Saturday for the spring game. He checked out the new football operations building before heading to the stadium for the game. He got the chance to talk with Dabo Swinney and other coaches about his future plans. “We were just talking about camps still. Basically, the offer will come out of camp. Got to go to that and do good. They said they need to see me live just so they see how good I hit the ball and how consistent I am.” Potter said he’s also been talking to Penn State, Iowa State, Oklahoma, Indiana and Cal. He’s also still hearing from USC and he last visited there for a practice the week before the spring game. He does not have any more visits planned at this point.
