There was a lot of college hoops involving Palmetto State Thursday, practically a full slate. We know you are busy so we’ve tracked down all of the results for you and posted them here for you. There’s a lot of ground to cover in this recap so let’s jump in.
Clemson can’t hang with #11 Louisville
Things went from bad to worse for Clemson in a 92-60 loss to 11th ranked Louisville. The Tigers got off to a good start and had a 21-12 but the Cardinals went on an 18-2 run late in the first half and never looked back from there. Clemson has dropped five straight games, all in the ACC. They are 11-7 overall and 1-5 in league play. Marquise Reed scored 13 points to lead the Tigers in that category.

College of Charleston loses CAA showdown
The College of Charleston had a big crowd on hand for its CAA showdown with UNC-Wilmington, but the Cougars couldn’t send the fans home with a win. The Seahawks handed the Cougs their first conference loss of the season with a 65-59 win in the Holy City. UNC-Wilmington is still unbeaten in league play.
Winthrop takes over first place in Big South
Winthrop won a nationally televised Big South matchup against UNC Asheville, 76-73. The win gives the Eagles first place in the conference standings with a 6-1 record; they are 14-4 overall.
Furman grabs key win over East Tennessee State
The Paladins opened up a 27 point lead and drove it home from there in a 75-62 win over ESTU. Kris Acox scored 19 and grabbed nine rebounds. Furman is 11-8 overall and 4-2 in the Southern Conference.
Wofford tops VMI
Wofford evened its Southern Conference record to 3-3 after an 88-70 win over VMI. Cameron Jackson scored a career high 25 points for the Terriers.
The Citadel scores 95, still loses
95 points wasn’t enough for The Citadel in a 100-95 loss to Western Carolina. The Bulldogs are now 9-12 and 2-6 in the SoCon.
Late putback lifts USC Upstate
Michael Buchanan grabbed one of his ten rebounds and put it in the basket with 1.9 seconds left in the game to lift USC Upstate to a 62-60 win at Florida Gulf Coast. The Spartans are 13-8 and 3-1 in conference play.
Charleston Southern pounds Presbyterian
Charleston Southern kept PC winless in the Big South with a 73-52 win over the Blue Hose. CSU is 6-12 and 2-5 in league play. PC is 4-14 and 0-7.
#5 USC women beats Ole Miss
A’ja Wilson returned from an ankle injury and USC stayed perfect in the SEC with a 65-46 win over Ole Miss. Check out what Dawn Staley had to say below.
