Here’s the latest on several USC and Clemson basketball targets for the 2017 class:
6-3 Devontae Shuler of Oak Hill Academy, VA was visited by Louisville Wednesday according to his coach Steve Smith and he’s looking at a possible visit with the Cardinals. Louisville was in earlier in the summer to check on Shuler. Miami is also showing interest and might be in next week. Shuler took an official visit to USC last weekend and will go to Oklahoma State this weekend and Ole Miss next weekend. USC coach Frank Martin has not been in to see Shuler since the official visit.
USC’s Frank Martin was in to see 6-8 Ibrahim Doumbia of Miami Tuesday. Doumbia took an official visit to USC earlier in the month. “It was great, he was just asking me how was my visit. I said it was great. He asked me who did I like it and I said it was a great experience.” He was scheduled to visit Florida last weekend but didn’t make the trip. At this point he hasn’t scheduled any other official visits.
6-7 Aamir Simms of Dyke, VA did not take an official visit last weekend and he said he’s not sure if he’ll take any more. He visited Clemson officially earlier this month. He had also planned to visit VCU, Miami, Pittsburgh and Notre Dame. Simms said he’s not ready to make a final decision just yet.
Clemson, Vanderbilt and Florida were in this week to see 6-9 Ejike Obinna of Ashburn, VA. He will visit Vanderbilt this weekend. Has been to Clemson and Florida. His decision is expected within a couple of weeks after the Vanderbilt visit.
Clemson and USC were in last week to visit with 6-10 Brandon Huffman of Alaska. He attends school in Raleigh, NC. He has not decided if he will visit either place at this point. Frank Martin of USC met one on one with Huffman after a recent visit. “He had good conversations with both,” said coach Brian Clifton.” “I think he’s visited South Carolina unofficially before. His father is originally from Columbia so he has family there.” Huffman has set official visits with Southern Cal for this weekend and he also plans to visit LSU according to his coach. Georgia Tech, NC State and Missouri also have been in recently to see Huffman who recently was offered by North Carolina.
