USC running backs coach Bobby Bentley said after Tuesday’s practice AJ Turner remains #1 at the position but he will use a committee of running backs versus Vanderbilt and thru the season.
Bentley said David Williams has worked his way out of the “doghouse” with his two best practices of camp Saturday and today.
Rod Talley and Darius Paulk round out the running back group.
Sophomore defensive end Shameik Blackshear met with the media for the first time in camp Tuesday morning and declared himself physically ready for the season. Blackshear suffered several gunshot wounds in December and said he has recovered fully.
And cornerback Rashad Fenton also talked with the media Tuesday and expressed confidence in the rebuild secondary saying he loves the new bump and run coverage implemented by the new staff.
